Burkina-Faso – Venezuela: Opening of the first joint cooperation commission

Since Monday, February 5, 2024, experts from Burkina Faso and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela have engaged in the inaugural session of the first joint cooperation commission. This gathering, held in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, signifies a concerted effort to enhance diplomatic ties between Burkina Faso and Venezuela. The official opening ceremony of this inaugural joint cooperation commission is slated for February 6, 2024, in Caracas.

The experts, organized into seven sub-commissions, will scrutinize various draft agreements during this session.

Subsequently, these agreements will be presented for signatures by the Foreign Affairs Ministers of Burkina Faso and Venezuela.

The agenda encompasses discussions on projects spanning defense and security, economy, energy, air transport, education, vocational training, health, technology, communication, and culture.

Before the official opening on Tuesday, the working sessions on Monday allowed experts from Burkina Faso and Venezuela to proactively examine these draft agreements.

It is essential to highlight that bilateral relations between Burkina Faso and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela were established in 2003.

This joint cooperation commission adheres to the framework agreement signed in 2014 between the two parties, aligning with the expressed will of the highest authorities of both Burkina Faso and Venezuela.
