Burkina Faso/Effort for Peace: It is a supreme sacrifice for peace to return to the country

Colonel-Major Ouédraogo, who recently entered retirement, continues to demonstrate a heartfelt concern for his active-duty comrades. In a gesture both symbolic and impactful, he has generously donated a sum of 500,000 XOF to the Patriotic Support Fund.

This act carries profound significance, emanating from a patriot transitioning into retirement, likely facing adjustments in lifestyle.

It embodies a genuine sacrifice, reflecting a selfless commitment to others amidst personal challenges.

Retired since January 1, 2024, after 41 years of dedicated service, Colonel-Major Ouédraogo promptly answered the call initiated by the head of state, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE.

The call appealed to all Burkinabe citizens to contribute in their unique ways to the Patriotic Support Fund, aiming to bolster the firepower of the fighting forces and enhance the living conditions of the Volunteer Defense Forces (VDP).

These efforts are pivotal for a more effective counterterrorism strategy and the comprehensive reconquest of Burkinabè territory.

Commending this act as one of profound patriotic value, the president of the commission overseeing donations urges all active personnel and, particularly, the younger generation to take inspiration from such acts.

The Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, has openly expressed his willingness to welcome any form of contribution from his former colleagues.

It is noteworthy that the majority of Burkinabe citizens are actively responding to the call of the transitional president, with many contributing diligently.

Even Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are not overlooked, benefitting from the generosity and humanitarian spirit displayed by certain Burkinabè.

In times of adversity, solidarity and fraternity serve as unifying forces for individuals, communities, and nations.

As the adage goes, unity indeed fosters strength. In confronting shared enemies and challenges, such unity becomes indispensable.
