Huawei – Burkina Faso: A visionary partnership for ICT development and youth training

Huawei Burkina, in collaboration with the Burkinabe government, has unveiled a series of ambitious projects aimed at enhancing various aspects of society. These initiatives encompass efforts to bolster security in urban areas, expand electrification to rural regions, broaden internet access, and provide specialized training to youth in the realm of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

During a meeting with the Transition President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Huawei Burkina’s General Manager, Christophe Liu, provided an update on the progress of these projects.

He underscored the crucial importance of these initiatives for driving Burkina Faso’s socio-economic development forward.

A significant aspect of this partnership is the commitment to train 5000 Burkinabé youths over the next five years.

This training will cover essential domains such as 5G technology, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence (AI), with the aim of equipping young talents with the requisite skills to thrive in the ever-evolving global digital economy.

Furthermore, Huawei intends to roll out more than 2000 kilometers of fiber optic infrastructure across the nation.

This infrastructure will play a pivotal role in national connectivity, facilitating seamless communication between diverse regions and improving access to online services, particularly for administrative functions.

In essence, the collaboration between Huawei and the Burkinabe government is geared towards modernizing the country’s ICT infrastructure, empowering youth with advanced ICT skills, and fostering long-term socio-economic growth in Burkina Faso.
