Burkina Faso/Ramadan: President Ibrahim Traore calls for tolerance in unity

The Muslim community, after a month of fasting, prayers, and sharing, celebrated the Eid al-Fitr festival on Tuesday, April 9th, and Wednesday, April 10th, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan. On this joyous occasion, the transitional president, Captain Ibrahim Traore, addressed the Muslim faithful of Burkina Faso.

In a context where the country faces security challenges marked by terrorism and is also confronted by enemies seeking to destabilize it through cunning means, the Muslim faithful of Burkina Faso are called upon to work for peace.

This must be done in unity with their brothers and sisters of other religious faiths for the country’s best interests.

Hence, the head of state’s call for a culture of tolerance, unity, and social cohesion for a prosperous Burkina Faso.

This call was echoed by religious leaders of the Muslim community. During their various sermons, they urged the faithful to strive for coexistence, social cohesion, and solidarity.

They also prayed to God for the restoration of peace, security, and stability.

The religious leaders also reaffirmed their support for the transition and called on all Burkinabe to commit to the success of the war effort and to wholeheartedly embrace the vision of the transitional authorities.

This vision aims to make Burkina Faso a free and prosperous country.
