Burkina Faso: Digital Transition Minister reassures Burkinabe in Niamey about progress in the fight against terrorism

Minister Aminata Zerbo/Sabane, overseeing the Digital Transition, Postal Services, and Electronic Communications, visited Niamey as part of Niger’s National Digital Week. During her stay, she met with the Burkinabe community residing in the capital to update them on significant progress in the fight against terrorism.

At the closure of Niger’s National Digital Week, Minister Zerbo assured that security forces are fully committed to counterterrorism efforts, leading to many communities reclaiming their villages.

She emphasized ongoing offensive operations aimed at reclaiming territory and pushing terrorists beyond the country’s borders.

The minister personally conveyed this information to the Burkinabe community in Niamey, underscoring the importance of direct reassurance.

Burkina Faso’s Consul General in Niamey, Mohamed Zigané, welcomed this visit, highlighting the opportunity for the community to voice concerns and strengthen ties with Niger, a neighboring and friendly nation.

Aminata Zerbo’s visit to Niamey began on April 18 as Burkina Faso’s honoured guest during Niger’s inaugural National Digital Week.
