NBA playoffs recap: Celtics and Mavericks secure series leads

The Boston Celtics secured a spot in the NBA’s Eastern Conference playoff semi-finals with a convincing 4-1 series victory over the Miami Heat. Derrick White and Jaylen Brown led the charge with 25 points each in the Celtics’ dominant 118-84 win. Despite missing Kristaps Porzingis due to injury, the Celtics controlled the game from start to finish.

Jayson Tatum, contributing 16 points and 12 rebounds, emphasized the team’s focus on getting the job done and expressed readiness for the next challenge.

The Celtics now await the outcome of the series between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic to determine their next opponent.

Meanwhile, in the Western Conference, the Dallas Mavericks took a 3-2 series lead over the Los Angeles Clippers with a commanding 123-93 victory.

Luka Doncic’s stellar performance of 35 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds, despite battling knee injury and illness, propelled the Mavericks forward.

Paul George and Ivica Zubac made notable contributions for the Clippers, but they faced difficulties without Kwahi Leonard, who is also dealing with a knee issue.

Both series continue with the next games scheduled for Saturday and Friday, respectively, as teams vie for a spot in the conference finals.
