Marc Brys dismissed as Cameroon Coach following conflict with Samuel Eto’o

Marc Brys has been dismissed from his position as the head coach of the Cameroon national football team following a conflict with Samuel Eto’o, the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot).

The Belgian coach refused to meet with Eto’o on the instructions of Cyrille Tollo from the Ministry of Sports, showed disrespect towards Eto’o, and refused to share his training program or attend a Fecafoot meeting.

Due to these issues, an emergency committee of Fecafoot decided to fire Brys and his entire staff.

Martin Ndtoungou Mpilé has been appointed as interim head coach, assisted by David Pagou, to lead the team in the upcoming matches against Cape Verde and Angola for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
