Football/Victor Osimhen on loan move to Galatasaray with surprising January exit clause
Victor Osimhen signed with Galatasaray on loan from Napoli, but his future could remain uncertain due to an unexpected clause in his contract.
After a turbulent summer transfer window, where the Nigerian striker was linked with moves across Europe, including Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal, no satisfactory offers materialized.
Despite ongoing tensions with Napoli, Osimhen is now set to move to Turkey, with Galatasaray agreeing to cover his full salary during the loan.
The deal, however, includes no option or obligation for Galatasaray to purchase Osimhen permanently.
More intriguingly, the 25-year-old has negotiated a January break clause, which could see him leave the Turkish club after just four months if a better offer arises.
This clause ensures Galatasaray would receive compensation if Osimhen departs mid-season.
Osimhen’s move comes as Galatasaray seeks to bolster their squad after winning the Super Lig last season but failing to qualify for the Champions League.
With the club’s board still in Italy to finalize the deal, Osimhen’s short-term future seems set, but his long-term path remains wide open.
