Burkina Faso/Iran: Strengthening cooperation, businessmen from both countries look for opportunities
Burkina Faso and the Islamic Republic of Iran share excellent relations of friendship and multisectoral cooperation, which have been further strengthened with the rise to power of the military regime led by Captain Ibrahim TRAORE. In an effort to deepen their ties, particularly in economic and trade exchanges, business leaders from both partners are holding discussions.
During a videoconference held on Tuesday, September 17, the parties discussed opportunities available in both countries. According to official reports, the goal of these exchanges is to strengthen mutual opportunities, explore new economic and commercial avenues, and introduce the customs and tax regulations of both nations to stimulate economic growth.
Several sectors of common interest were identified, including agriculture, agro-industry, renewable energy, expert training, technology transfer, and innovation. Reports suggest that these areas could offer mutual growth opportunities for Burkinabé and Iranian business leaders.
It is worth recalling that the Islamic Republic of Iran is one of Burkina Faso’s strategic partners, sharing the same principles of bilateral cooperation, namely a win-win partnership, sincerity, respect for mutual interests and sovereignty, and non-interference. These types of partnerships are advocated by the leaders of AES Confederation member countries for the benefit of their peoples.
