Society/Senegal: A bailiff refuses to comply after being convicted of unpaid rent

A legal dispute over unpaid rent has emerged between a bailiff and his landlord. The landlord, A. Senghor, is demanding arrears totaling 1.75 million CFA francs from O. Mbodj, as reported by “WalfQuotidien”.

The plaintiff, represented by the manager of the real estate agency, P. Thiaw, is struggling to evict the bailiff from his property located in Cité Aliou Sow, Golf Sud, despite a court judgment in his favor since August, according to the newspaper.

It is noted that Thiam initially approached the Order of Bailiffs for an amicable resolution.

However, due to the observed delays, he eventually brought the matter to court, as highlighted by the information daily from the Walfadjri group.

The report indicates that the plaintiff later contacted the president of the Order of Bailiffs through a letter dated September 7, 2023, seeking the enforcement of the court decision. However, these efforts have been in vain.
