FC Barcelona targets Amadou Onana as potential Sergio Busquets replacement

As FC Barcelona continues its quest for a successor to Sergio Busquets, sporting director Deco is actively pursuing a key target.

Reports suggest that Amadou Onana is in Deco’s sights for the crucial role in midfield.

Despite various names being thrown around in the Catalan media for the defensive midfield position, the sports management appears to have already made a decision.

While the likelihood of Joshua Kimmich joining seems low, Barça is already formulating a Plan B.

With a determination to secure a solid defensive midfielder for the upcoming season, Deco sees Amadou Onana as the ideal solution to address the team’s perceived lack of ‘physical and athletic ability.’

The 22-year-old Belgian midfielder, previously linked to Barcelona, is now considered the frontrunner to reinforce the Blaugrana midfield.

The Spanish club is reportedly ready to invest up to €40 million to secure his services.
