Cristiano Ronaldo set to become co-owner of Spanish club Almeria

Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly in talks to acquire a stake in La Liga club Almeria through Saudi investment group SMC Group, led by Mohamed Al-Khereiji. The Saudi consortium recently purchased the Spanish side, and Ronaldo—whose net worth exceeds €500 million—could soon expand his sports portfolio with partial ownership.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, 40, has been building his post-retirement business ventures while playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

If finalized, the deal would mark his first major investment in European football since leaving Real Madrid in 2018.

Almeria, recently relegated to Spain’s second division, could benefit from Ronaldo’s global brand and SMC’s financial backing.

While neither party has confirmed the negotiations, Spanish media suggests an agreement is nearing completion.

Ronaldo, already a billionaire from endorsements and ventures, continues diversifying his empire—from fitness brands to hotel chains.

This potential move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s growing influence in global football, following high-profile player signings and club acquisitions.
