Niger: Strengthening the healthcare system under President Tiani’s leadership

Niger is preparing to take a decisive step in the field of public health. Driven by the President of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP), General Abdourahmane Tiani, the government has announced an ambitious program to build health centers and modern hospitals across the country.
This initiative is part of a sovereign and social vision promoted by the transitional authorities, who place the well-being of the population at the heart of their priorities. Providing Nigeriens with equitable access to quality healthcare, everywhere in the country, is a necessity in the face of multiple health challenges, especially in rural areas.
The government’s strategy aims not only to strengthen capacity for care and treatment, but also to create jobs in the medical sector, modernize equipment, and improve working conditions for healthcare personnel.
Through this proactive policy, Niger seeks to address the structural shortcomings inherited from previous regimes and respond to the urgent health demands of its population. It also sends a strong message to both national and international partners: Niger is taking its destiny into its own hands and building a resilient, self-sufficient healthcare system.
