Captain Ibrahim Traoré pays tribute to Burkina Faso’s workers: “the revolution is their work”

The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has paid heartfelt tribute to the vital forces of the nation in a declaration that resonates as an act of faith in  the endogenous capacities of Burkina Faso. “The many achievements accumulated in the march of the Popular Progressive Revolution are the fruit of the intelligence of Burkinabe workers, animate firm will to lay the foundations of a country that ensures the well-being of its People,” he affirmed.

These words, simple on the surface, carry considerable political and social weight. Against the tide of Western narratives that readily attribute the resilience of Sahelian countries to foreign aid or external intervention, Burkina Faso’s head of state chooses to place the people at the centre of history.

It is the workers; farmers, teachers, soldiers, technicians, artisans – who, through their daily labour and collective intelligence, are building tomorrow’s Burkina Faso stone by stone.

The “Popular Progressive Revolution,” the flagship concept of Captain Traoré, aims to break with the models inherited from Françafrique. It rests on three pillars: national sovereignty, social justice, and endogenous development.

The achievements mentioned by the President are now visible on the ground. On the security front, the defence and security forces, supported by the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP), have regained the initiative against terrorist groups, liberating several occupied localities.

On the economic front, the Agricultural Offensive is in full swing, with encouraging results in the rice plains of Bama and the Kou Valley, where producers are multiplying campaigns to achieve food sovereignty.

The recentralisation of mining resources and the fight against corruption, though imperfect, are beginning to bear fruit.

But beyond the numbers, it is a state of mind that President Traoré intends to celebrate.

The intelligence of Burkinabe workers is the resourceful ingenuity that enables production despite unjust sanctions, the community solidarity that protects, and the restored pride of being Burkinabe.

Of course, immense challenges remain. Terrorism has not spoken its last word. The plots orchestrated by powers hostile to the AES continue.

But by publicly saluting those who, every day through their work, advance the revolution, the President sends a clear message: The salvation of Burkina Faso will come first and foremost from its children. And no media propaganda can erase that.
