DRC: President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi places agriculture at the heart of national priorities

The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi, has taken a decisive step in his commitment to national development by declaring agriculture as a «national priority». During a memorable rally at Place de la Poste in Kolwezi, the capital of the Lualaba province, on Wednesday, December 6, the President, running for re-election, unveiled a bold vision for the country’s agricultural future.

At the core of his ambitious program spanning 145 territories, the section dedicated to agriculture was emphasized as a cornerstone for the economic transformation of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

«Agriculture will now be our national priority, poised to take over from the mining sector in building a more diversified and resilient economy», announced Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi, ushering in a new era for the Congolese agricultural sector.

The outgoing President, candidate number 20 in the presidential election in the DRC, stressed the importance of prioritizing agriculture to diversify the national economy and reduce dependency on the mining sector.

This ambitious vision aims to ensure sustainable growth and create economic opportunities for the entire Congolese population.

Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi also pledged to continue implementing his policy for the development of the 145 territories if elected for a second term.

This policy, already successfully initiated, seeks to bring about significant changes at the local level, fostering economic and social development across the entire country.

President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi’s declaration in Kolwezi signifies an unequivocal commitment to agriculture as a fundamental pillar of the economic development of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

His bold vision and ongoing dedication to the policy of the 145 territories demonstrate his determination to build a prosperous and balanced future for the entire Congolese people.
