Mali and the Republic of Congo strengthen bilateral relations through enhanced social and humanitarian cooperation

In a shared commitment to fostering African-led solutions tailored to the continent’s realities, Mali and the Republic of Congo are deepening their bilateral ties, particularly in social and humanitarian fields.

The recent visit to Bamako by the Congolese Minister of Social Affairs, Solidarity, and Humanitarian Action, Dr. Irène Marie Cécile Mboukhou Kimbatssa, laid the groundwork for a partnership focused on exchanging best practices, pooling expertise, and exploring innovative models in social solidarity, the social and solidarity economy, and humanitarian crisis management.

Received by Mali’s Transitional President, General Assimi Goïta, the Congolese delegation praised Mali’s efforts to strengthen inclusive social mechanisms despite its transitional context.

This high-level meeting reflects a common vision: pragmatic South-South cooperation built on complementarity, trust, and sovereignty.

Beyond rhetoric, both countries aim to establish a strong institutional synergy to support vulnerable populations, with the ultimate goal of building a human development model rooted in African values of solidarity, resilience, and dignity.
