Bruno Fernandes considers shock Saudi move amid United uncertainty

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is weighing a lucrative transfer to Saudi Pro League champions Al-Hilal, with talks advancing this week. The 30-year-old playmaker, fresh from winning a record-equalling fourth Player of the Year award at United, could depart for a reported £80m fee.

Sources confirm Fernandes’ camp met Al-Hilal officials to discuss a deal that would more than double his wages and include Club World Cup participation.

While manager Ruben Amorim publicly praised Fernandes’ leadership during United’s Asia tour, the club appears open to a sale that could fund squad rebuilding.

Fernandes, under contract until 2027, was United’s top scorer (19 goals) last season, but critics like Roy Keane argue his temperament contributes to the team’s instability.

A decision is expected post-tour, with Al-Hilal eager to finalize their marquee signing before facing Real Madrid in the Club World Cup group stage.
