AES Confederation: Burkina Faso and Niger elected to the FAO Council, a strategic step forward for food sovereignty

At the 44th session of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Conference held in Rome, Burkina Faso and Niger were elected to the FAO Council for a three-year term. This election, the result of a joint candidacy, highlights the growing diplomatic clout of the AES and its determination to turn agricultural challenges into levers for development and sovereignty.
In a global context marked by supply chain tensions and climate change, the presence of Burkina Faso and Niger in this strategic body represents a major opportunity.
