Mali: Minister Moussa Alassane Diallo and CINSERE-ANR focus on industrial recovery and endogenous economy

Bamako, July 14, 2025 – The revitalization of Mali’s industry and the transformation of the national economy were at the center of discussions on Monday between the Minister of Industry and Trade, Moussa Alassane Diallo, and a delegation from the Framework for Interpretation and Monitoring of the New Reading of the National Refoundation Conferences (CINSERE-ANR), led by Me Amadou Tiéoulé Diarra.

During the meeting, Minister Diallo emphasized the strategic importance of an autonomous national industry to ensure the country’s economic sovereignty. He specifically mentioned the reactivation of HUICOMA (Mali Cotton Oil Mill), which is currently under review, as well as ongoing financial efforts to stabilize COMATEX (Mali Textile Complex), two major industrial pillars facing difficulties.

The minister also stressed the need to support Malian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), seen as key drivers of growth, and highlighted the close coordination underway with other ministries to ensure a coherent and sustainable recovery.

On the CINSERE-ANR side, discussions focused on key themes arising from the National Refoundation Conferences, including the revitalization of priority industrial sectors, the promotion of artisanal know-how, and the protection of traditional trades, such as Malian artisanal dyeing.

This meeting is part of a broader effort to concretely implement the recommendations of the Conferences, with a shared vision: to build a resilient, inclusive Malian economy rooted in local resources.

In a cordial and constructive atmosphere, both parties expressed their willingness to work hand in hand to revive the engines of the Malian economy while ensuring better wealth distribution at the local level.

This dialogue between the government and representatives of the refoundation process confirms Mali’s commitment to building a sovereign economy based on endogenous realities and national potential.
