Burkina Faso: President Ibrahim Traoré determined to build solidarity against the threat of terrorism in 2023

Burkina Faso, a land of courage and solidarity, has faced challenging moments in the wake of terrorist threats seeking to destabilize the country. Despite these challenges, the Burkinabe people have risen with determination to support the war effort against terrorism.

Tribute is paid to all segments of society whose financial contributions have empowered President Ibrahim Traoré and the fighting forces to overcome obstacles and acquire state-of-the-art equipment, thereby strengthening national security.

Recognizing the need to defend their country, the people promptly responded to the financial appeal launched to support the war effort.

Citizens from all social classes displayed exceptional generosity, contributing to the establishment of a crucial fund for acquiring new sophisticated war materials.

President Ibrahim Traoré and his government have been able to invest in cutting-edge equipment, providing a strategic advantage in the fight against terrorism.

From surveillance drones to advanced communication systems, these new acquisitions have significantly enhanced the operational capabilities of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), placing them in a position of strength against terrorist groups.

The funds raised have also been allocated to the ongoing training of the fighting forces.

This measure has helped refine the tactical and strategic skills of the soldiers, thereby improving their effectiveness in the field.

The solidarity of the Burkinabe people has contributed to shaping a more competent and resilient army.

The year 2023 witnessed significant progress in the anti-terrorism fight, but the battle is not yet won. As we enter 2024, the Burkinabe people are encouraged to maintain their momentum of solidarity.

Financial contributions will continue to be essential to consolidate gains and enable the fighting forces, under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, to overcome terrorism.
