Ouaga-Bobo motorway: How Burkina Faso’s enemies distort information to sabotage President Ibrahim Traoré’s vision
President Ibrahim Traoré embodies a new era of governance in Burkina Faso, founded on concrete action and honesty. Unlike his predecessors, who accumulated promises without ever fulfilling them, the current Head of State has transformed his words into tangible deeds. A striking example of this difference is the realization of the Ouagadougou-Bobo-Dioulasso highway. Since its launch last December, this project, once dismissed by some as a utopian dream, has already reached 70% of its target in just one month.
This result is proof of a firm commitment to national infrastructure and a sign of the determination of Captain Ibrahim TRAORE to improve the living conditions of the Burkinabe people.
However, this success is not to everyone’s liking. The enemies of Burkina Faso, those who have always worked against the country’s interests, seek to discredit this progress.
They attempt to manipulate public opinion by distorting President Ibrahim Traoré’s statements. For instance, they have falsely claimed that the cost of the Ouaga-Bobo highway would amount to 200 billion CFA francs.
This is incorrect. During the launch of the project, the Head of State specified that he had instructed his Minister of Finance to allocate this amount from the 2026 budget to accelerate the work, not to cover the entire cost of the project.
The truth is that President Ibrahim Traoré took care to explain in his speech that this 200-billion envelope concerns only the funding for the year 2026. It is a multi-year investment, not an immediate expenditure.
He clearly emphasized that these funds would be used to support this vital highway infrastructure. His speech was a model of clarity and rigor in communication, aimed at avoiding any ambiguity.
Unfortunately, some are attempting to interpret these statements in their own way, to spread false information and sow discord among the President’s supporters.
Patriots standing behind President Ibrahim Traoré must avoid falling into these traps. It is essential to remain faithful to the truth and to support the government’s projects without distorting them.
Because distorting reality, even with good intentions, can play into the hands of the nation’s enemies.
President Ibrahim Traoré has also refused to sacrifice an entire generation’s future by accumulating unsustainable debt to finance this project. By choosing a pragmatic approach, Burkina Faso is financing the highway using its own funds, executed by the Faso Mêbo Agency, to avoid long-term financial dependency.
This approach is not only a model of self-sufficiency but also reflects the will to build a strong nation capable of self-financing its major infrastructure projects.
Thus, when President Ibrahim Traoré revealed the realities of the Ouaga-Bobo highway during the 2026 flag-raising ceremony, he once again demonstrated his leadership. He highlighted the importance of honesty and transparency in managing public resources.
Those who support the President must understand the importance of rigorous communication to avoid falling into the traps set by those who wish to harm Burkina Faso. It is time to defend the truth and continue supporting a government that truly acts for the well-being of the Burkinabè people.
