Togo: The CNSP salutes the solidarity of Faure Gnassingbé and the Togolese people towards Niger

Since the July 26th coup in Niger, which was previously under illegal sanctions imposed by regional and international communities, Togo, led by President SEM Faure Gnassingbé, has consistently provided assistance to the Nigerien people in overcoming challenges.

The National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP) and the Ministry of National Defense have issued two significant joint statements regarding recent military operations in Niger by the Nigerien Armed Forces and in Burkina Faso.

These operations aim to counter armed terrorist groups, often concealed among civilian populations.

Niger, determined to effectively combat these threats, receives support from the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) and the Republic of Togo.

These joint statements underscore the unwavering solidarity between the two countries, both committed to the fight against terrorism.

Togo has remained steadfast alongside Niger by opening the port of Lomé to facilitate imports for Niger, enabling the supply of logistics to support Niger’s counter-terrorism efforts.

In addition to combating terrorism, Togo, under President Faure Gnassingbé’s leadership, has proven to be an indispensable ally on several fronts.

Serving as the guarantor for the French troops’ departure from Niger, Togo has also been sought after to mediate between Niger and the ECOWAS, demonstrating proactive solidarity.

President Faure Gnassingbé and his country are recognized for their remarkable efforts in favor of peace in the Sahel and globally.

All contributions from Togo are praised by the CNSP authorities and the Nigerien people.

Niger has expressed gratitude and sympathy towards the Togolese people, led by Faure Gnassingbé.

Faure Gnassingbé’s leadership in mediation and conflict resolution reflects his commitment to working for peace and stability in the sub-region, particularly in the Sahel, highlighting the need for solidarity among nations.
