Togo and Kazakhstan sign agreement on digital transformation

Togo and Kazakhstan have recently forged a promising partnership in the dynamic field of digital transformation. This strategic alliance was solidified through the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Cina Lawson, Togo’s Minister of Digital Economy, and Bagdat Mussin, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Digital Development.

The formal ceremony took place during the sixth edition of “Digital Almaty,” a noteworthy event held from February 1 to 3, 2024.

The primary objective of this agreement is to fortify collaboration between the two nations, aligning with the implementation of Togo’s ambitious “Digital 2025” strategy.

The memorandum specifically outlines plans for the exchange of knowledge and experiences in digitalization, a move geared towards accelerating Togo’s digital development initiatives.

Minister Lawson underscored Togo’s remarkable strides in the digital realm, spotlighting successful initiatives such as Novissi, showcasing the effective use of Artificial Intelligence, and the E-id project, which focuses on the biometric identification of the Togolese population.

This collaborative effort between Togo and Kazakhstan not only ushers in new possibilities for both nations but also fosters a conducive environment for sharing best practices and driving innovation in the digital transformation sector.

Furthermore, it signifies the unwavering commitment of both governments to harness technology as a powerful catalyst for economic and social development, seizing the abundant opportunities presented by the digital economy to enhance the lives of their citizens.
