Burkina Faso: The Head of State visits agricultural projects in Bagré and encourages young people to invest in agriculture

President Captain Ibrahim Traoré made a significant visit on Thursday, March 7, to explore agricultural ventures in Bagré, where students are immersed in training under the Agro-Silvopastoral Technologies Incubator project, spearheaded by the National Agency for the Valorization of Research and Innovation Results (ANVAR).

This initiative stands as a beacon to inspire youth involvement in agriculture and foster a drive toward food self-sufficiency.

During the visit, Captain Traoré not only extended his support to the students but also announced the forthcoming provision of boreholes and comprehensive input and seed kits.

These resources are aimed at not only facilitating their establishment but also boosting their agricultural production.

In an encouraging gesture, he urged the students to evolve into instructors and role models, playing a pivotal role in attracting more young minds to the realm of agriculture.

The students, elated by the presidential visit, perceived it as a profound acknowledgment of their dedication to the cause.

In expressing their passion for agriculture, they articulated their aspirations to cultivate their own farms once their training reaches fruition.

In alignment with his overarching vision for food self-sufficiency, President Traoré delved into a field of experimental wheat within the irrigated expanse of Bagrépôle.

This underscored the paramount importance of such crops in realizing his ambitious objectives.

The visit not only emphasized the significance of the ongoing agricultural initiatives but also symbolized the commitment of the leadership to empower the younger generation and cultivate a sustainable future.
