Togo under the leadership of President Faure Gnassingbé: Dynamic and diversified diplomacy

Luxembourg and Togo have fortified their diplomatic relations, highlighting President Faure Gnassingbé’s successful strategy to broaden the country’s global partnerships. This significant stride was orchestrated with excellence by Professor Robert Dussey, Togo’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The pinnacle of this renewed vigor was Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Xavier Bettel’s visit to Lomé.

During this visit, Xavier Bettel engaged in discussions with key officials of the Togolese government, including Prime Minister Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé and Minister Robert Dussey.

These deliberations laid the groundwork for an enhanced and comprehensive cooperation pact between the two nations.

A pivotal moment during this interaction was the formal signing of a memorandum of understanding, outlining the future avenues for development cooperation.

This symbolic gesture underscores the unwavering commitment of both countries to fortify their ties and collaborate towards mutual economic and social progress.

Beyond the diplomatic formalities, this meeting underscored the diverse sectors in which Luxembourg and Togo seek to forge cooperative endeavors.

Conversations encompassed a range of topics including the digital economy, education, and environmental stewardship, demonstrating the breadth of potential collaboration.

This partnership between Luxembourg and Togo is part of a broader vision aimed at fostering solidarity and innovation for a more prosperous and sustainable shared future.

Under President Faure Gnassingbé’s leadership, Togo is resolutely committed to cultivating diverse and mutually beneficial international cooperation initiatives.
