DRC: President Félix Tshisekedi takes on the battle against unemployment in a Rally in Mbanza-Ngungu

President Félix Tshisekedi, candidate number 20 in the upcoming presidential election on December 20, reiterated his commitment to the fight against unemployment during a popular rally at Kitemoko Stadium in Mbanza-Ngungu, in the Kongo Central province, on December 1, 2023.

In his impassioned speech, President Félix Tshisekedi emphasized his commitment to make the fight against unemployment his top priority if re-elected.

He highlighted ongoing projects, such as the rehabilitation of the railway network and the expansion of the ONATRA port, which will attract businesses and create job opportunities for the Congolese youth.

The Head of State declared, «Unemployment is our main enemy, and if you give me a second term, I will tackle this issue as a priority. The ONATRA port is already operational, and we are also working on the rehabilitation of the railway network with the purchase of wagons and cars. I need you, young men and women, to provide you with job opportunities, and in return, you give me the strength to rebuild our country».”

Félix Tshisekedi then highlighted the achievements of his first term, particularly the free primary education and the universal health coverage program.

He promised to extend free education to the secondary level and increase access to free healthcare for all Congolese.

The President also emphasized the importance of the local development program for the 145 territories and agriculture, providing resources for farmers to increase their harvests and feed the nation.

The President urged the citizens of Mbanza-Ngungu to remain vigilant against «candidates acting on behalf of foreign forces to infiltrate the country» and urged them to trust him.
