Foot/ Inter-Milan: The Italian club will be bought out with $2.5 Billion?

Thomas Zilliacus has made a significant move in his pursuit of acquiring Inter Milan, with an agreement in place for a substantial sum of $2.5 billion. This comes as the latest development in his ongoing efforts to take over the Nerazzurri.

The Finnish entrepreneur has been vocal about his interest in purchasing the club over the past few months.

While he previously mentioned that club President Steven Zhang was resistant to selling Inter, the Finnish businessman is now poised to present a formal offer to acquire the Serie A giants.

«XXI Century Capital has inked deals worth $2.5 billion with investors who are eager to support XXICC’s ventures», Zilliacus announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, on a Monday morning. «We plan to extend a revised, amicable proposal for Inter Milan utilizing a portion of these funds».

In a significant update from this October, inter shareholders greenlit the balance sheet for the financial year ending in June 2023.

The report confirmed substantial increases in revenues and a reduction in losses. Comparing this year to the previous one, losses decreased by €55 million, moving from €140 million to €85 million.

The total revenues saw an impressive increase to €425 million, marking a rise of approximately €60 million when excluding any transfer-related income.

Club President Zhang has affirmed the club’s commitment to advancing their plans for a new stadium that they would fully own.

Zhang has also hinted at his reluctance to sell the club, emphasizing, «The path we must take together lies before us».

However, there is speculation that Zhang might consider the possibility of bringing in a minority shareholder.

The next steps in Zilliacus’ pursuit of Inter Milan remain to be seen.
