FC Barcelona eyes Aleix Garcia for midfield reinforcement in Winter transfer window

Amidst challenges in the FC Barcelona midfield, the club’s leadership has escalated efforts to bolster this crucial area during the winter transfer window. Gavi’s season-ending injury and the absence of a suitable replacement for Sergio Busquets have prompted Barça to focus on midfield recruitment. As emphasized by President Joan Laporta, the midfield remains at the forefront of concerns for the Catalan club during this transfer period.

In this quest for reinforcement, club advisor Deco has reportedly identified Aleix Garcia as a prime target.

According to journalist Gerard Romero, negotiations are currently at an advanced stage between FC Barcelona, represented by its sporting director, and the captain of Girona.

Despite a release clause set at €20 million, Barça is seeking to negotiate a lower fee by considering the inclusion of either Pablo Torre or Oriol Romeu in the deal.

The pursuit of Aleix Garcia holds particular significance for Barça, given that the player himself recently expressed a strong desire to join the Catalan ranks.

«I would like to play for Barça. It’s the club I have followed since I was little and the one I have always loved», he stated.

These words undoubtedly had a significant impact, even prompting a reprimand from his coach at Girona.

At 26 years old, the former Eibar player may be on the verge of realizing his dream. The development of this situation remains closely monitored.
