Manchester City’s summer splash: Pursuit of Rafael Leao sparks transfer frenzy

In the upcoming summer transfer window, Manchester City is reportedly prepared to go all out in their pursuit of Rafael Leao, as revealed by Fichajes. The 24-year-old player has showcased his exceptional talent with AC Milan, becoming a pivotal figure since his arrival in 2019 from Sporting.

This season alone, Leao has notched up seven goals and provided eight crucial assists in 30 matches.

Despite his contract with the Italian club running until June 2028, Manchester City appears determined to secure his services.

Known for their significant spending to strengthen their squad, the Cityzens are poised to make a substantial offer.

Last summer, Manchester City splurged over 250 million euros in total, with the transfer of Josko Gvardiol from Leipzig alone reaching 90 million euros.

According to Fichajes, the Sky Blues are willing to go as far as 100 million euros to acquire Rafael Leao, who has a release clause set at 150 million euros.

However, City faces competition in this pursuit, as Paris Saint-Germain has also reportedly targeted the Portuguese international as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappé, who is on his way to Real Madrid.
