Burkina Faso: When terrorists disguise themselves as FDS to discredit the army and sow terror

A new video circulating on social networks in recent days shows a shocking scene: terrorists dressed in Defence and Security Forces (FDS) uniforms preparing to attack innocent civilians. This sordid scene is intended to make the Burkinabe army bear responsibility for crimes it did not commit.

This is not the first time this ploy has been used. For several months now, barbaric attacks on civilians have been wrongly attributed to the FDS or the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP), when in fact they are terrorists disguised as soldiers.

These individuals do not hesitate to film their own atrocities, before transmitting the images to certain foreign media, notably French, known for their hostility towards the Burkinabe government.

The aim is to tarnish the image of the national army, which is fighting a heroic battle to regain its territory.

These media manipulations, orchestrated with diabolical precision, aim to sow doubt among the population, fracture the trust between the people and their defence forces, and slow down the victorious momentum of the fight against terrorism.

By disguising themselves as Burkina Faso soldiers, the terrorists are seeking not only to commit their crimes with impunity, but also to discredit the army, which pays a heavy price to protect its citizens.

In the face of this perfidious strategy, it is urgent to step up vigilance, denounce these disinformation campaigns and support the forces engaged at the front.

The Burkinabe army, with the support of the VDP, is relentlessly pursuing its efforts to liberate the areas under terrorist control and restore the authority of the State.

The people of Burkina Faso must not allow themselves to be manipulated by cynical schemes designed to sow division. On the contrary, now is the time to stand together in solidarity and defend the truth, honour and dignity of the armed forces.
