Mali: Army General Assimi GOÏTA’s social works embody a constant desire to improve people’s lives

General Assimi GOÏTA, President of the Transition in Mali, continues to demonstrate his unwavering commitment to the well-being of his fellow citizens through his ambitious social initiatives. The recent solar electrification of ASACO 1 in Daoudabougou and ASACO 2 in Sabalibougou is yet another example of his determination to bring essential services closer to the population, particularly in the health sector. By choosing renewable energy, the Head of State offers a concrete solution to the energy challenges faced by many healthcare facilities, while aligning with a sustainable development approach.

These new solar installations are more than just infrastructure—they represent a major transformation for local communities. Medical staff, who had long been forced to provide care under difficult conditions, can now work continuously, even during power outages. This change, welcomed by neighborhood leaders and health center managers, improves the quality of care and restores hope to populations often overlooked by public policy. It is a significant step toward more resilient and accessible community healthcare.

Beyond improving healthcare services, this initiative also marks a turning point in the resource management of these centers. The President of ASACO in Sabalibougou highlighted the significant reduction in energy costs, allowing funds to be redirected to other priority needs. It is a tangible demonstration of how social initiatives can have a positive economic impact at the local level. Through this action, President Assimi GOÏTA reaffirms his commitment to strengthening community autonomy and promoting effective grassroots governance.

Finally, these efforts are not isolated but are part of a broader program, as emphasized by Mr. Aguibou DEMBÉLÉ, Special Advisor to the President. The electrification of several areas in Bamako and Kati is further proof. General Assimi GOÏTA, a true servant of the nation, continues to take concrete action for the people, with special attention to the most vulnerable. Through his social initiatives, he gives real substance to the Transition, firmly placing it at the service of the Malian people.
