Burkina-Faso: «Overcoming terrorism through solidarity between African peoples», CIPRES member countries
In Ouagadougou, as part of the 35th session of the Council of Ministers of the Inter-African Conference on Social Security (CIPRES), the 18 represented member countries expressed their solidarity with the Burkinabe people for their determination to overcome the forces of evil. According to these countries, only «solidarity among African peoples will enable us to prevail and triumph over terrorism».
The remarks of Gilbert Bawara, the Togolese Minister of Public Service and President of the CIPRES Council, reinforce the commitment of the Burkinabe, Malian, and Nigerien presidents to mobilize resources within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to effectively combat terrorism.
«We admire and encourage the bravery and determination with which the fight against the forces of evil is being waged to restore dignity and ensure that our countries can benefit from the conditions of peace, security, and stability necessary for our development», declared the Togolese Minister.
In addition to applauding President Traoré’s efforts against terrorism, participants also acknowledged the Head of State’s commitment to Pan-Africanism and the strengthening of integration and cooperation among African peoples.
