Burkina Faso: Unwavering support, the government at the bedside of heroes wounded defending the nation

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo visited the Regional Hospital Center (CHR) of Fada N’Gourma, accompanied by several government officials. This visit reflects the government’s firm commitment to show solidarity with soldiers wounded in action and to assess the conditions of their medical care.

Standing before the injured, the head of government expressed, with deep emotion, the gratitude of the entire nation:

“I came to check on your health and wish you a speedy recovery. I came to express our admiration for your spirit of sacrifice, which allows our country to stand tall.” These heartfelt words conveyed the government’s profound appreciation for the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), who are on the front lines of the fight against terrorism.

The visit was also an opportunity for the Prime Minister to meet with the hospital staff, whom he warmly praised for their dedication and professionalism.

“I thank you for all your efforts in caring for our wounded soldiers. I commend your individual and collective commitment, despite the difficult working conditions,” he said, highlighting that the quality of care observed gives hope for a swift recovery and showcases the medical teams’ expertise.

Aware of the challenges faced by healthcare workers, the Prime Minister reassured them that efforts are ongoing to improve their working conditions: “Everything is being done to support you. Keep working your miracles.”

The presence of several government members reinforced a clear message: the protection, health, and dignity of the FDS and VDP are a national priority. The government of Burkina Faso remains committed to supporting its forces, both on the battlefield and in recovery.
