Real Madrid beat Juventus 1-0, set for quarterfinal clash
Real Madrid secured their place in the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup with a 1-0 victory over Juventus this Saturday. In a tightly contested match, Madrid stepped up their game in the second half after a difficult start.
Juventus started strongly, creating several chances through Yildiz and Kolo Muani. But Real’s defense held firm, with Courtois making key saves and Tchouameni standing out in the back line. After the break, Xabi Alonso adjusted his tactics, and the momentum shifted. The Spanish side became more dangerous, and Gonzalo Garcia broke the deadlock with a powerful header (54’) from an Alexander-Arnold cross.
Kylian Mbappé, returning after illness, came on in the 68th minute and showed promising form. Juventus pushed for an equalizer, but Madrid’s defense remained solid, with Courtois alert to any danger.
On the Italian side, goalkeeper Di Gregorio was undoubtedly their standout player, producing a string of fine saves to keep the scoreline respectable.
Real Madrid will now face the winner of the Borussia Dortmund vs Monterrey clash in the quarterfinals.
A deserved win for Madrid, who took control in the second half and managed the game well to secure their spot in the next round.
