TOGO / Legislative and regional elections: Indelible ink already available

The upcoming legislative and regional elections in Togo, scheduled for April 13, are undergoing significant preparations. The Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) has received indelible ink bottles supplied by the company NETCOM SA, which won the tender due to the quality of its product.

These ink bottles are currently stored in anticipation of the elections, following laboratory tests conducted by researchers from the Chemistry Laboratory of the University of Lomé. These tests aim to ensure the reliability of the ink before potential approval.

To ensure the security of the election, the executive has established the Security Force for the 2024 Legislative and Regional Elections (FOSELR), composed of defense and security forces.

This force, supervised by the CENI and the operational command of the Ministry of Security, aims to maintain a peaceful climate during the electoral process.

The electoral code has recently been updated for these elections, with an increase in the number of deputies from 91 to 113.

Deputies will be elected by the 4.2 million voters registered on the CENI’s final electoral roll.

The candidate submission period will take place from February 19 to February 28.

Stay tuned for more updates on the legislative and regional elections in Togo in April.
