Burkina Faso: Terrorists wiped out for trying to disturb the peace in Nango and Yacré

On the evening of 11 November 2023, a gang of criminals disturbed the peace and quiet in the villages of Nango and Yarcé in the Yatenga region, threatening to clear the area within 72 hours.

Alerted, the army took just a few hours to neutralise them, so that the population could go about their activities freely.

The terrorists were first spotted by aerial vectors around Tangari, 8km east of Gomboro.

The attackers then fled. After a whole night of patrolling and searching, their base was detected on the banks of a river around which numerous bandits were at ease.

On 12 November 2023 in the morning, they went to their leader under a tree to get some instructions.

This was the moment chosen by the aerial vectors to start the massacre by spitting fire at them.  Many were killed instantly while others ran in all directions.

In the debacle, some tried to retrieve their motorbikes from under a large bush. But it was no use, they were neutralised by helicopter bombardments.

Finally, the troops on the ground set foot on the base, recovering the logistics and completely destroying this haven for criminals.

Five motorbikes managed to cross the border into Mali. This ally’s air vectors took care of them.

It is clear that the fighting forces will not rest until the territory has been recaptured.

According to reports, operations are continuing in several areas to restore peace and security.
