Togo: Asky Airways, a key partner in the development of the Togolese economy

Asky Airways, with partial ownership by the Togolese government and Ethiopian Airlines, plays a pivotal role in driving economic development in Togo. Recently, as part of its ongoing commitment to the country, Asky has announced plans to install a state-of-the-art Boeing 737 flight simulator in Lomé, Togo’s capital, aimed at bolstering its training and maintenance capabilities.

This strategic decision underscores Asky Airways’ dedication to investing in Togo’s aviation sector.

Given the Boeing 737’s integral role in its fleet, having a locally-based flight simulator will not only enhance personnel training but also ensure stringent safety standards and top-notch service delivery.

Moreover, this initiative is expected to have a ripple effect on the local economy by generating employment opportunities for Togolese aviation professionals.

Building a skilled local workforce is imperative for the sustained growth of Togo’s aviation industry and for driving overall economic prosperity.

Simultaneously, Asky Airways is actively investing in grooming young Togolese talents in aviation.

Presently, 25 aspiring aviation professionals from Togo are undergoing rigorous training at the esteemed Ethiopian Aviation University in Addis Ababa.

This program aims to equip these individuals with the requisite skills and expertise to thrive in the aviation sector, both within Asky and beyond.

The comprehensive training provided at the Ethiopian Aviation University reflects Asky’s steadfast commitment to nurturing local talent and creating meaningful career pathways in a thriving industry.

These trained professionals will play a pivotal role in propelling Asky Airways’ success and in catalyzing broader advancements in Togo’s aviation landscape.

Asky Airways stands out as a pivotal ally in Togo’s economic trajectory, marked by strategic investments in training, innovation, and the overall advancement of the national aviation sector.

The forthcoming installation of the Boeing 737 flight simulator in Lomé and the ongoing training of young Togolese talents at the Ethiopian Aviation University represent significant strides toward empowering local capabilities and steering Togo toward sustainable economic and social progress.
