DRC: President Félix Tshisekedi implements his vision of a state closer to the health realities of the Congolese people

The 12th Conference of Governors, a strategic and political meeting chaired by Félix Tshisekedi, concluded with key resolutions aimed at ensuring the smooth governance of the country. During the proceedings, the President reaffirmed his commitment to building a more efficient state that serves the fundamental needs of its population.

One of the main outcomes of the conference was the decision to strengthen healthcare structures across the national territory—an initiative welcomed and supported by President Tshisekedi, fully aligned with his vision of a resilient, equitable, and decentralized healthcare system.

In a context marked by multiple health challenges—from recurring epidemics to the lack of adequate medical infrastructure in rural areas—President Tshisekedi emphasized the urgent need to equip the provinces with sufficient resources and technical capacities to meet these challenges and improve access to healthcare in remote regions.

The Congolese President’s call for robust healthcare structures is part of a broader reform agenda for provincial governance. Additionally, strengthening the healthcare system will require the effective implementation of the equalization fund, designed to promote fair and balanced financing of the health sector, particularly in the most vulnerable regions.

Through these efforts, Félix Tshisekedi reaffirms his leadership in the overhaul of a more inclusive healthcare system. His message is clear: healthcare must no longer be a privilege but a guaranteed right for all, regardless of where they live in the country.
