Niger: 41 terrorists neutralized by the FDS in an exemplary response in Tillabéri

Niger continues to demonstrate the growing strength of its Defense and Security Forces (FDS) in the fight against terrorism. In a statement broadcast on national television, the Ministry of Defense announced that 41 terrorists were neutralized in Tillabéri following an enemy attack.

The events took place during an immediate counter-operation, carried out with professionalism and coordination by the FDS. From the first hostile shots, Nigerien forces responded decisively, inflicting heavy human and material losses on the enemy and preventing any advance toward civilian areas.

This successful operation once again highlights the effectiveness of the security doctrine of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP), led by General Abdourahmane Tiani. Since taking charge of the transition, strengthening national sovereignty and reclaiming territory have been non-negotiable priorities.

The local populations of the Tillabéri region, long scarred by terrorist violence, have welcomed this act of bravery and protection. The FDS are increasingly seen as a people’s army—close to the population, committed, and resolutely proactive in the fight against insecurity.
