Burkina Faso: Three years of positive and transformative governance at the helm of Faso

Since coming to power three years ago, Captain Ibrahim Traoré has led Burkina Faso through a remarkable transformation. His efforts have focused on all key sectors of the country, including security, the economy, agriculture, and infrastructure. Today, the results are tangible on the ground.

Security has improved thanks to a rigorous military strategy. Nearly the entire territory is now under the authority of the State, thanks to the efforts of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP). Terrorist groups have been pushed back, and intelligence services have enabled the anticipation and neutralization of numerous threats.

Economically, the country has experienced sustained growth, with a GDP of $22.1 billion. This growth is explained by better resource management and the refusal of foreign loans, affirming a break from financial dependency. It is also due to the reallocation of state resources toward national priorities (repayment of local debt, a 30% salary reduction for ministers and parliamentarians, and a 50% increase for civil servants).

The agricultural and industrial sectors have seen remarkable development, including the construction of tomato processing plants, a cotton textile unit, a gold refinery, and more. Additionally, agriculture has been modernized through mechanization (hundreds of tractors, tillers, and water pumps distributed), increasing cultivable land and boosting production of millet, rice, and tomatoes. This has strengthened the country’s food self-sufficiency.

Finally, infrastructure development has been launched with a large-scale road modernization program. The widening and paving of key roads facilitate trade and improve living conditions.

In just three years, Captain Ibrahim Traoré embodies a bold vision of a stronger, more autonomous Burkina Faso, firmly oriented toward the future.
