Burkina Faso: Defence and Security Forces unite to recapture territory under the command of President Ibrahim Traoré

The Defense and Security Forces (FDS) of Burkina Faso reiterate their firm commitment to the full reconquest of the national territory, fully aligning with the vision of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré. During a meeting with the high command of the armed forces on December 20, 2025, the Head of State reaffirmed his support for the efforts of the FDS, calling for continued mobilization to restore peace and security in all regions of the country, particularly in the Guiriko area.

Lieutenant-Colonel Lassané Porgo, Commander of the 2nd Military Region, emphasized that the meeting provided an opportunity to review the operational actions undertaken and the progress made in securing the territory.

Collaboration with local populations was also discussed, as part of a more inclusive and strategic approach to combating the forces of evil.

This meeting confirmed the unwavering commitment of the FDS to the reconquest mission, with clear instructions from President Ibrahim Traoré.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré, as Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, stressed the necessity of close cooperation between the military and the population to ensure the success of operations.

For him, the stability of Burkina Faso is essential to securing a prosperous future for the nation. This commitment from the FDS demonstrates their active willingness to support this ambitious vision.
