Strengthening cooperation for Socio-economic Development: Burkina Faso Hosts talks between Liptako-Gourma authority and Sahel states alliance

In Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, a crucial meeting took place between the transitional President and Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, and a delegation from the Council of Ministers of the Liptako-Gourma Authority (ALG).

The discussions underscored the importance of coordinating efforts between the actors of the Liptako-Gourma integrated Development Authority and those of the Sahel States Alliance.

This collaboration aims to effectively address the challenges associated with socio-economic development and integration in the Liptako-Gourma Zone.

The delegation, present in Ouagadougou for the 65th session of the Council, engaged in fruitful discussions with the Head of State.

The primary focus of the exchanges was on the prospects of the ALG, an organization that has been in existence for over five decades, and the emergence of the Sahel States Alliance.

It is worth noting that the Liptako-Gourma Integrated Development Authority, also known as the Liptako-Gourma Authority (ALG), was established on December 3, 1970, in Ouagadougou, bringing together Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger.

These three West African countries united with the objective of ensuring socio-economic development in the region through the promotion and exploitation of mineral, energy, hydraulic, and agropastoral resources in a regional framework for harmonious and integrated development.

While initially focused on security in the Sahel region, the Sahel States Alliance has now expanded its actions to encompass development on all fronts.

The synergy between these two organizations is poised to accelerate development, sovereignty, and integration, bringing prosperity to the people of the region.
