NBA/LeBron James makes history by surpassing 39,000 career points

In the regular-season matchup between the Lakers and Utah on Wednesday, November 22, LeBron James achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first player in NBA history to surpass the 39,000 career points mark. This remarkable feat comes as the 38-year-old forward enters his 21st NBA season.

LeBron James further solidified his place in NBA history at the age of 38, becoming the inaugural player to reach and surpass the iconic 39,000 career points milestone.

During this match against Utah, LeBron needed just five points to reach this historic goal.

It took him a mere 5 minutes to surpass the 39,000-point mark, underscoring his enduring dominance in the league.

With the potential to reach the 40,000-point mark in the current season, LeBron James is poised to maintain his position at the pinnacle of this record, potentially for an extended period.

This record-breaking achievement places him ahead of Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1969-1989), who previously stood alone in the exclusive club of players with over 38,000 points.

Completing the podium in the ranking of the all-time leading scorers is former Utah Jazz player Karl Malone (1985-2004), who accumulated 36,928 points.
