La Liga: Barcelona cruise past Getafe with a commanding 3-0 win

Under heavy rain at the Johan Cruyff Stadium, FC Barcelona delivered a convincing performance with a 3-0 victory over Getafe in Matchday 5 of La Liga. Hansi Flick’s men, inspired by a brace from Ferran Torres and a decisive Dani Olmo, confirmed their momentum and climbed to second place in the standings, just behind Real Madrid.

Barça quickly took control of the game through high pressing and fluid ball circulation. In the 15th minute, a brilliant combination between Raphinha and Dani Olmo set up Ferran Torres, who opened the scoring with a powerful strike. The Catalans continued to dominate and, in the 34th minute, Torres netted his second goal after another assist from Raphinha, sealing Barça’s superiority before halftime.

In the second half, Hansi Flick’s substitutions proved decisive. Marcus Rashford, replacing Raphinha, brought energy on the right wing and set up Dani Olmo for the third goal (3-0). The introductions of Fermín López and Marc Casadó also added freshness and control to the midfield.

With 65% possession and total dominance in play, Barcelona managed their lead with composure, despite a few attempts from Getafe to respond. The Azulones, however, were contained in their half for most of the game and struggled to threaten Joan García’s goal.

Thanks to this victory, the Blaugrana confirmed both their strength and ambition, while Getafe remain stuck in mid-table. Barcelona now sit firmly in second place with 13 points, keeping pressure on leaders Real Madrid.
