Burkina Faso: Achievements, initiatives, and prospects according to H.E. Apollinaire Joachim Kyélem de Tambèla

Burkina Faso is undergoing a transitional period under the leadership of President Captain Ibrahim Traoré. In a recent address to the national assembly, Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachim Keyla de Tambèla provided a positive assessment of the transitional government, highlighting various accomplishments and future projects.

The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s successes in various sectors, including security, health, and the economy.

With an investment of 32 billion XOF in healthcare accessibility, the country has taken a significant step to improve access to health services.

The transition has also witnessed measures to reduce the state’s expenditure, resulting in significant savings exceeding 24 billion XOF.

These saved funds are being redirected towards peace efforts, with over 80 billion XOF expected by the end of 2023.

Furthermore, Burkina Faso is actively engaging on the international stage, holding discussions with countries such as Niger, Venezuela, and Iran to ensure a regular and affordable supply of hydrocarbons.

However, there have been allegations regarding France’s presumed role in coup attempts and instability in the Sahel.

In pursuit of food self-sufficiency, the government is working to restore the meaning of family names and accurately transcribe city names.

Additionally, the national airline, Air Burkina, is undergoing restructuring, with the imminent arrival of new aircraft and aspirations for expansion into new horizons.

Ultimately, Burkina Faso’s transition is marked by significant progress and promising projects for the future.

Despite geopolitical challenges, the country is determined to strengthen international ties and ensure the well-being of its population.

The announced patriotic engagement days in 2024 attest to President Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s continued commitment to progress and stability.
