Burkina Faso/Security: The transitional authorities take precautions

The transitional authorities in Burkina Faso are taking precautions in this time of war against terrorism, and in the face of constantly repeated plots by other enemies of the Nation.

These precautions imply security measures that can not only protect the nation and its people, but also enable the fight to be waged effectively.

It is with this in mind that the decision has been taken to check or control all parcels coming from outside the country.

This mainly involves scanning and even opening parcels entering Burkina Faso. This is according to a memo published at the beginning of November by the Burkina Faso Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The memo, which is addressed in particular to diplomats accredited to Burkina Faso and representatives of international and inter-African organisations and their staff, sets out the reasons for this decision.

The aim is to ensure the country’s security at a time when it is at war with many enemies.

The note is also addressed to anyone bringing parcels into the country. Since the enemy can use any means to achieve its objective of destabilising the country.
