Amara Diouf: Senegal’s rising star, U17 African champion, Faces European Club Dilemma

Amara Diouf, the U17 African champion with Senegal last May, has made a remarkable entrance onto the world stage in the U17 World Cup in Indonesia. The young striker notably scored a brace against Argentina in the Lions’ opening group match.

At just 15 years old, this emerging talent in Senegalese football is already attracting interest from top European clubs, as reported by the French newspaper «l’Équipe». «Sign with Metz, you won’t regret it», they suggest.

Big names like Manchester City, Real Madrid, and FC Barcelona have approached him.

Sadio Mané, with whom he shares a close relationship, reportedly advised him to join FC Metz.

This revelation comes from Mady Touré, the president of his youth club Generation Foot, in an interview with «l’Équipe».

«At 18, he will go there. It’s our partner club». Sadio Mané, who is his role model, talks a lot with him. The other day, he told him, sign with Metz, you won’t regret it. I even went through the third division with this team, and look where I am now. The big clubs will always be there if you don’t skip steps», Mr. Touré shared, as reported by LaDépêche.fr.

It seems highly likely that Amara Diouf will sign with FC Metz in 2026 when he turns 18.
