Burkina Faso: Massacre of civilians in Zaongo, cruel revenge by terrorists

There have been reports of several civilians being killed in the village of Zaongo, north of Boulsa, in the Centre-North region of Burkina Faso. The events occurred on Monday 6 November 2023, reportedly targeting women and children.

According to security sources, this was a cruel act of revenge by the terrorists against the civilians of this village following their many defeats in recent months at the hands of the defence and security forces.

The criminals believe that it was the local people who agreed to hand over their young men and girls to the defence and security forces to fight them.

Moreover, they acted just after their defeat during operations in the Sahel, in the same region, in the Centre-North of Burkina Faso, on 6 and 7 November 2023.

Several of them were neutralised by the FDS on the ground, and by aerial vectors, in the Centre-North and in Lanfiera (Boucle du Mouhoun).

So to blame these massacres on the fighting forces, as some complicit French media are doing, is an aberration.

These media outlets state that the identity of the assailants is not yet known, but accuse the FDS and VDS of these despicable acts.

Are these fighters, who devote themselves body and soul on a daily basis to protecting the population, the same ones who kill their compatriots?

For what profit? There is no point in trying to discredit and defame the brave fighters and their courageous leaders who live only for the good of the Nation.
