DRC: Religious leaders reaffirm their support for President Tshisekedi

Several religious leaders formally expressed their support for the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Félix Tshisekedi, following a meeting with him.

The delegation of religious leaders was led by the Minister of State in charge of the Portfolio, Adèle Kahinda, herself a deaconess.

She stressed that the delegation represented «servants of God» who had come to express their support for the Head of State, particularly at a time when the country is facing challenges, including tensions with Rwanda.

The Minister of State pointed out that the religious leaders had supported the country through prayer during this period of alleged aggression by Rwanda.

This statement comes in a tense regional context, marked by mutual accusations between the DRC and Rwanda.

The prophet Dodo Kamba, who was part of the delegation, emphasised the unity of the men of God despite some minor differences.

This statement reflects the idea that, despite possible differences of opinion, the religious leaders stand by the President in a spirit of unity and solidarity.

The assertive support of religious leaders for Félix Tshisekedi underlines the importance of the role of religious institutions in the political and social life of the DRC.

This show of support could also help to strengthen stability and national unity in a context of complex national and regional challenges.
