Burkina Faso / Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s Vision in Action: Over 14 Billion Dollars bumped into asphalting Ouagadougou to shine

Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Burkina Faso, resolutely embodies the leadership needed to transform the country despite the continuing security challenges. The huge investment of more than 14 billion CFA francs to pave the access roads to the capital, Ouagadougou, is palpable proof of his commitment to the well-being of the population and the country’s overall development.

The Minister for Infrastructure and Access, Adama Luc SORGHO, undertook a field visit on Monday to assess the progress of the asphalting work.

This visit demonstrates the importance attached by the government to the concrete implementation of projects aimed at improving the living conditions of citizens.

Since May 2023, the districts of Bassinko, Yagma, Rimkièta, Nagrin and Cité An II have been benefiting from asphalting work, an initiative designed to relieve congestion on the capital’s main arteries.

According to Minister SORGHO, these efforts will not only enhance safety, but also provide significant opportunities to stimulate socio-economic activities and improve urban mobility for the residents of the districts concerned.

The total cost of the work amounts to 14,546,999,645 CFA francs, a substantial investment financed entirely by the Special Road Fund (FSR-B).

The access roads being asphalted cover a total length of 27.548 km, with a completion deadline of 12 months, excluding the rainy season.

This massive investment in road infrastructure bears witness to President Ibrahim Traoré’s holistic vision for Burkina Faso.

By focusing on development not only on the security front, but also in crucial areas such as infrastructure, the government is demonstrating its commitment to balanced and inclusive growth.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s policy of improving people’s living conditions is tangibly reflected in these asphalt projects, offering a glimmer of hope for a prosperous and dynamic future for Burkina Faso.

By combining security with prosperity, the President and his government are paving the way for a more resilient and stronger nation.
